KrishiVigyan Kendras are district level Farm Science Centers established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi for speedy transfer of technology to the farmers. These centres are engaged in transfer of latest agricultural technologies to the end users for bridging the gap between production and productivity. It works through partnership mode with allied departments and agencies
KVK has been considered as an innovative and different than other training intuitions/organizations for its need based and skill oriented training programs with approach of ‘learning by doing’ and ‘teaching by doing’. KVK places a special emphasis on training and education of farmers, entrepreneurs, farm women, rural youth, extension functionaries as well as voluntary organizations. The center plays a First Line Extension role i.e. a linkage between research and the field in augmenting the socio-economic conditions of farmers, farmwomen.
KrishiVigyan Kendra, Kalikiri was established on February 10th 2012 to cater the needs of farming community of thirty three (33) western mandals of Chittoor district. Since inception this KVK has been endeavoring for the upliftment of socio-economic condition of the farming community of the district through scientific intervention in the agricultural and allied sectors.
