Organic Farming Programmes

 

Organic Farming initiation of KVK, Kalikiri PKVY 2019-20

 

  • Organic farming group was formed and named as KALIKIRI ORGANIC to implement organic farming practices in 20 ha of area in cluster approach

 

  • Group was formed with 25 farmers in 2019-20 and was implemented in 3 villages viz., Yallampalli and Guttapalem of Kalikiri and Ayyavaripalli of Vayalpad mandal.

Activities taken up in 2019-20

  • Group formation
  • Capacity building programmes like trainings and exposure visits and field visits
  • Organic conversion of fields in 20 ha was initiated by applying FYM, bio fertilizers and bio control measures.
  • On par yields were obtained (500 kg/acre) in organic groundnut cultivation compared to chemical farming (600 kg/acre) during first year of implementation
